Question

How to Change Printer from Offline to Online Canon?

Hello everyone! My Canon mg3200 printer worked well until today. As per my knowledge, I have setup my Canon printer properly but I don’t know why printer suddenly goes into offline mode. I have also upgraded drivers but still unable to make my printer online. I open Control Panel to check my printer status but it is also showing as “Offline”. On my printer, all LEDs are blinking and my laptop is also working properly. Help me how can I get my Canon printer back online.

Fix Canon Printer Offline Issue:

The reason for your Canon printer to be offline can be mainly because of two reasons.

  1. Your Printer is not set as default and that is why your spooler has to be alerted.
  2. The sleep/snooze period is very small and that is why it goes offline if the printer remains inactive for a small period of time.

I will discuss how to make your Conan printer online manually.

Follow the Given Set of Instructions Carefully to Get Canon Printer Online from Offline:

Step 1: Click on "Windows" key of your computer and then go to control panel of your computer system.

Step 2: Click on "Devices and Printers", this will take you to a tab where your printer will be listed. Look for your printer name and right click on it. From the drop-down menu make sure that your printer has been set as the default printer.

Once that is verified go down and see the option for "Use Printer Offline", if this option has been checked, uncheck it and save the settings. Restart your printer and see if the problem is resolved.

Alternate steps:

1. Update Printer Drivers: Printer drivers are software program responsible for maintaining the functionalities of your printer device which includes connectivity too. In case the offline problem occurs too often, make sure to check your drivers. Update it with the latest available version.

2. Make the Sleep/Snooze Time Longer: From the settings panel for your printer, look for sleep mode and see if the duration fixed for it is less? If yes, elongate it by 60 minutes to make sure your printer does not go into sleep mode too often.

Hopefully, these steps helped you in resolving the problem with your Canon printer's connectivity. Kindly revert back with your query and issues and I will be glad to respond.
