Connect Canon TS3100 Printer to WiFi

Canon TS3100 is the most demanded printer as it offers wireless connectivity for printing at home or office. This compact, affordable printer completes all your printing requirements. Users can use AirPrint and Google Cloud Print with the Canon TS3100 for easy and wireless printing through any of your devices.

The Canon PIXMA TS3120 supports compatibility with XL ink cartridges. These XL ink cartridges are optional as they help you save cash, print more and increase the overall work efficiency of the printer without replacing the ink cartridges frequently. The PIXMA TS3100 is the wireless All-In-One printer that offers all the smart features in the right size.

There are two methods to connect Canon TS3100 printer to WiFi:

  • Direct wireless connection (connecting devices using Wireless Direct)
  • Wireless connection (connecting devices via a wireless router)

1. Direct Wireless Connection (Using Wireless Direct)

You can connect wirelessly using the "Wireless Direct" feature of Canon TS3100. This allows you to connect the printer wirelessly from a computer or smartphone even without a wireless router.

Set LAN Settings to Enable Wireless Direct

  • Turn ON your printer.
  • Push the Direct button on the LCD panel.
  • The wireless direct feature is now enabled and you can print through any device wirelessly.

Configure the Device Settings

  • Enable wireless communication on your device by turning on "Wi-Fi" in your device's Settings menu.
  • Select "XXXXXX-TS3100 series" from the available connection list (XXXXXX represents last six digits of printer's MAC address).
  • If "XXXXXX-TS3100 series" is not appearing in the available networks, it means Wireless Direct is not enabled.
  • Enter the correct password (printer specific - print the network configuration page to find it).
  • Your device is now connected to the printer wirelessly.

Note: You can connect up to 5 devices with the printer at a time.

Start Printing with Wireless Direct

Once connected, download and install Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY from App Store or Google Play to start printing or scanning wirelessly.

2. Wireless Connection (Via a Wireless Router)

Connect Using WPS Button

  • Check whether there is a WPS button on the wireless router.
  • Continuously press and hold the Network button on the wireless printer until the Network status icon flashes.
  • Press the WPS button on the wireless router within 2 minutes.
  • When the wireless router connection is complete, the Network Status icon and Signal Strength icon will glow.
  • If the Alarm lamp lights up, check Troubleshooting tips.

Connect Using WPS PIN Code

  • Load two sheets of A4 sized or letter-sized plain paper.
  • Press the Information button on the Canon printer.
  • Print the Network Configuration Page which will contain a PIN code.
  • Press the Setup button 10 times.
  • Press the Color button on the printer.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions on your device to enter the WPS PIN CODE from the printed Network Configuration Page.
  • When the wireless router connection is complete, the Network Status icon and Signal Strength icon will glow.

Canon TS3100 WiFi Setup FAQ

Q1. Can I connect Canon TS3100 to WiFi without a router? Ans: Yes, you can use the Wireless Direct feature to connect your device directly to the Canon TS3100 without needing a router. Press the Direct button on the printer's LCD panel to enable it. Your phone or computer will see the printer as a WiFi network that you can connect to directly.
Q2. How many devices can connect to Canon TS3100 wirelessly at the same time? Ans: The Canon TS3100 supports up to 5 devices connected simultaneously through Wireless Direct mode. If you are connecting through a wireless router, the number of devices depends on your router's capacity, but the printer can handle multiple print jobs from different devices.
Q3. What should I do if my Canon TS3100 is not finding my WiFi network? Ans: First, make sure your WiFi router is turned on and working. Move the printer closer to the router to improve signal. Try restarting both the printer and the router. If the issue continues, reset the printer's network settings by pressing and holding the Network button until the alarm lamp flashes, then set up the WiFi connection again using the WPS button method.
