Install Canon PG-260 and CL-261 Ink Cartridges:

Installing cartridges can be difficult if you are completely new to them. It might seem like you need any additional help to install the cartridges but it isn’t rocket science and can be done very easily. There are two cartridges that are available, one black and the other tri-color.

In addition to the colors, the cartridges are available in two sizes namely standard yield or XL size. Both Canon PG-260 and CL-261 use different kinds of inks to give different kinds of images. The Canon PG-260 uses high pigment-based ink which gives smudge-resistant images of high quality.

These even have a quicker drying time. On the other hand, the Canon CL-261 has a tri-color cartridge ink that contains the colors (magenta, cyan, and yellow). It uses dye-based ink which takes longer to dry out but is quick in printing beautiful images.

To Install Canon PG-260 and CL-261 Ink Cartridges the process is easy and can be done in minimal time. The standard size and the high yield size both the cartridges fit in the exact same way, so there’s no issue installing either. The only difference that holds both the cartridges apart is the ink inside.

Follow the Steps Below to Install Canon PG-260 and CL-261 Ink Cartridges.

Step 1: Open the cartridge and remove the orange tape at the side. This will expose the vent hole from where it can work with the printer.

Step 2: While handling the cartridges, avoid touching the golden points. These golden contact points are sensitive and could damage the cartridge if not handled well. The fingerprints on these golden points can give an error message while using the printer to take out prints.

Step 3: Open the lid of the printer and wait for the cartridges to center. Then, lift up the gray latch and pull out the cartridge to remove it. Keep a note that the latch with the letter B is for the black cartridge and the one with C is where the tri-color or colored cartridge is to be placed. Any interchange would ruin both the cartridges, so it's better you be careful.

Step 4: Install the cartridge and pull down the latch to secure it.

Step 5: It will take a few minutes for the printer to initialize and then you can start printing.

This is an easy and efficient way to Install Canon PG-260 and CL-261 Ink Cartridges.

Both the cartridges have the same amount of ink and even install on in the exact same way. It’s only the amount that differs in normal size cartridge and XL size. If you print regularly it's better to go for high yield cartridges since they can be used for longer times.

In addition to this if you print once in a while you can go for the standard cartridge but make sure you print at least once a week to keep to the ink prime.
