Is there any way to connect a wireless Canon printer to my laptop?

I am trying to setup Canon wireless printer (MX436) on my Acer laptop (Windows 7) but failing every time. After turning on WiFi on my laptop, my printer is not detected. Can anyone tell me the easiest way to connecting Canon wireless printer to the laptop? It might be possible that I have uninstalled something wrong software due to which my laptop is unable to detect my printer. Please help me friends so that I can enjoy printing with my Canon wireless printer.

See these points to hook up Canon printer to a laptop -

  1. Firstly turn off your Canon printer.
  2. Now, take a USB cable and insert its one end into the USB port on the connection panel of your Canon printer.
  3. After plugging one end of ethernet cable, you have to plug its another end into the USB port of your laptop.
  4. Once both ends of USB cable gets plugged properly, turn on your Canon printer.
  5. Now, go to Start button and then tap on Control Panel> Hardware& Sound> Devices & Printers.
  6. Next, click on “Add a printer” option and after this, you have to choose “Local Printer”. Also, choose the printer port for your connection.
  7. Move to the driver's window and then click on Canon printer option. After this, choose your specific model and hit Next button.
  8. Give your printer a name and again hit Next button.
  9. If you want to share your printer with other devices on the network then you have to choose the option for this. Then hit Next.
  10. Select whether if you want to set your Canon printer as the default printer. At last, you have to click on Finish button.

Now, your Canon printer is successfully connected to your laptop.
