Epson is a known printer brand. They offer a variety of models that can satisfy your personal or business printing needs. Every model of Epson is unique. No two models function the same way. The same thing applies to ink cartridges as they differ in composition and capacity. However, their shape and size are the same.

Here in this post, we are going to learn how to replace Epson Ink Cartridges. Before you replace the cartridges, you must check the ink cartridges. 

A) Check Ink Levels

If your printer is not giving you the notification to replace the cartridges and you want to know which cartridge needs to be replaced, then check the ink level of your printer.

Below are the steps that you need to follow to check the ink levels.

Step 1: Go to the home button and press it. 

Step 2: After that, select Setup and then select Ok. 

Step 3: Now, some opinions will appear before you. There, you need to choose the first option of Ink Levels. Now, select Ok. 

Step 4: After that, check the ink level of your Canon printer on the screen.

B) Installation of New Ink Cartridges

Before you get started with the process, you need to have the replacement cartridges with you. As you will need them when you will take out the empty cartridges. Don't leave your print head open as it can form clogs that are very hard to clean and may even require you to replace the print head. 

Step 1: Power on your printer by pressing the power button on your computer system. 

Step 2: If there is no ink in your cartridges, a message will appear on your LCD screen stating that your cartridges need to get replaced. Select Proceed before carrying out the instructions appearing on the screen. 

Step 3: If you want to replace an ink cartridge when there is some ink left in it, then follow the steps stated below. 

• Press your Home button 
• Now, select Ok
• Go down to maintenance and select Ok. 
• After that, go to the option of Ink cartridge replacement and select Ok. 

Step 4: Move the scanner unit upwards to see the ink cartridges. 

Step 5: Allow the printhead to stop prior to removing the cartridges. 

Step 6: Please don't touch the white cable in your printer and the printhead. 

Step 7: Go to the cartridge's back for squeezing the tab and pull up the cartridge. Carefully hold the used cartridge as the residue can stain on your hands, carpet, furniture, or clothing.

If by chance your hands get dirty with ink, you must clean it with soap and water. In case the ink goes into your eyes, then clean it using cool water. Also, keep this cartridge away from children. 

Step 8: Now, take the new cartridges and shake them up and down 4-5 times while it is kept in the sealed wrapper. This will redistribute the ink that is settled at the bottom.

Step 9: After that, take out the plastic packaging. 

Step 10: Take out the yellow take and seal the cartridge. Don't remove any other thing from the cartridge. 

• Don't take off the seal as it will lead to leaking. 
• Don't take off the label
• Also, don't touch the green chip on your cartridge.

Step 11: Insert the cartridge in its slot and don't leave it until it clicks. You need to perform the same process for the other cartridges. 

Step 12: After that, you must close the cover and choose the option of CHECK given on your LCD screen to ensure proper installation of the cartridge. If the cartridge is closed properly, then close the lid. 

Step 13: Your printer device will begin to print the new cartridge. The process is going to take a while. When it is done, then you are going to see a message on your screen saying that your printer is ready to print.
