Please let me know that how do i change a Printer port from LPT1 to USB. I am facing some issues while doing this. Help me.
As the PCs are advancing with time, printers don't wanna be left out in this race of evolution. Some ways to connect printer devices are less common. Now, new interfaces like Universal Serial Bus, network printing, and firewire are replacing the old parallel port interfaces.
It is easy to change the printer port from LPT1 to USB. The process is quite simple and does not involve any complications.
Step 1: First of all, connect the port end of the adapter to the printer.
Step 2: Insert the USB end of the adapter to your computer's USB port.
Step 3: After that, select Start and then go to Settings. After that, choose the option of "Printers and Faxes".
Step 4: Search for your printer icon and then right-click on it to continue with the configuration process.
Step 5: Click on properties and then select the "Ports" tab.
Step 6: Uncheck the box given next to the LPT port in the list where your printer is mentioned.
Step 7: Tick the box given next to the USB port on your list. Select Apply and then click on Ok.
