Question

How do I Get My HP Printer Back Online?

I have an HP laser printer at home. IO have been using it for over a 7 moth period and this machine never gave me any problem until last night. Recently I changed my computer from Windows to Mac due to some office requirements and since the change my Hp printer will not go online. The printer machine is on and running but would not connect to the router. Router is working fine and have good speed. So what is causing the issue? can anyone here help me out with the issue?

Follow these steps to make your HP printer back online -

  1. First of all, turn on your computer through which HP Printer is connected.
  2. After turning on the printer, click on the Start menu and then tap on the “Devices and Printers” option.
  3. Next, click on the HP printer’s icon and then check its status.
  4. If the status is showing as “Offline” then click the word “offline”. After this, a window will pop-up where you have to click on the Printer option.
  5. At last, just uncheck the “Use printer offline” option.

Additional tips -

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor to check connectivity -

  • Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor on your system.
  • Once downloading gets complete, just follow the on-screen instructions to resolve the problem.

Reset the printer and check connection status -

  • Turn on your printer and then check its status.
  • After turning on the printer, you have to disconnect the power cord from your printer.
  • Next, you have to unplug the HP printer’s power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait for a couple of minutes and then restart your computer.
  • Now, you have to plug the power cord back into the wall outlet. Also, reconnect the power cord to the backside of the HP printer.
  • If your HP printer does not turn on by itself then you have to press the power button to turn it on. Verify that your printer is connected to the network and then try printing.
