How to Scan from HP Printer to Computer Windows 10

Follow these steps to scanning on Windows 10 with HP printer -

  1. Install “Windows Scan” app on your Windows 10 operating system to scan documents or photos. Press a click on the Windows Start button and then type “Windows store” where a magnifying glass icon is displaying.
  2. When “Windows Store” appears, just press a click on it. Then move to top right corner of the window and then type “Scan” in the search box.
  3. At this moment, “Windows Scan” will appear on your system’s screen, just tap on it.
  4. Next, tap on "Get" button. Now Windows Scan app will install on your Windows 10 operating system. This process will hardly take 2 minutes. Wait for some time so that you can scan properly.
  5. Once Windows Scan app gets properly installed, just click on the Launch button. Although you can also search this scanning app from the Windows start menu.
  6. Although this scanning app is basic yet effective as it allows you to administer basic settings. Such as choosing scan area and image file type.
  7. In your case, choose scanner as “HP OfficeJet Pro 8600Plus printer” and file type as PNG/JPEG or etc.

Note – If this scanner is not listed in the app then confirm that your HP scanner is turned on and connected to your computer and also the required driver is installed. One more thing to note i.e. all scanned images are saved into “Scans” that is present inside “Pictures” folder.
