Do you wish to know how to repair your ADF feeder parts for HPOfficeJet Pro? If yes, then you have come to the right place. The trick is to learn how to dismantle it and then replace a few components.

Initially, you need a screwdriver using which you will remove the nine screws. If you are not sure and you don't have one, then you can go to a nearby hardware store to buy one. The nine screws are situated at the bottom of your scanner.  

After that, you need to separate your ADF from the scanner. To separate the two, you need to pull the lever located at the bottom of your device. Once you are done performing these steps, the two pieces will be apart from each other.

Then, we are going to focus on the scanner part of the machine. You need to push the three levers at the bottom of your scanner. In case you don't wish to do this with an upside-down scanner as all the internal mechanisms will fall out after you press the third lever. 

Push in the Tabs

You can begin by vertically holding the scanner and then pushing the first tab. After that, you can either use a pair of pliers or a finger for keeping the tab in an open position. Follow the same process on the second tab. However, the third tab is going to be a little different. Please ensure that the glass side is up when you open your scanner or else all the pieces are gonna fall out.

After that, you are required to remove the top carefully. This will give you access to the inside of the scanner. The lamp will run back and forth on a geared rail. In case the lamp has burnt out, then you will have to access this section and fix it. 

Replacement of scanner glass is a simple process. You just need to pull the tabs and hold them in one place and then remove the panel carefully. Please ensure that you don't lose the reader piece while removing the glass as the scanner doesn't work without it.

The white strip is also very important for the scanner as this is what the scanner uses for the scanning. If you see a tinted strip, then you will receive an error message and it requires to be changed. 

How to Remove the Automatic Feeder?

Putting the scanner aside, you need to work on other parts of the machine as well. There, you will see two screws that you need to remove. Then, you need to open the top. When you are done with this, you will see 8 additional screws(4 screws on both sides). Remove these screws too.

After that, you are required to flip it over. Then, you are going to see two tabs. You will see one on the top and then another one just below that. After you loosen the tab, you need to search for something that you can put there to keep it open.  

Then, you are required to push the bottom tab and it will open up. Now, you will be able to separate the base from the rest of the machine. After that, the left side of the plastic will fall off. After that, you are required to push the tab on the right side. Then, use your hand to rotate the top.
