HP's tagline for the HP Deskjet 2722 all-in-one printer is "Simple setup, simple printing," which pretty much sums up this inkjet printer. Unfortunately, this printer is intended for home use, so print rates aren't particularly fast. However, USB and Wi-Fi networking support is a nice feature that can save you time and effort.
This printer's small size makes it ideal for use in confined spaces. This multi-function machine has many more outstanding capabilities, but you must install it using original HP printer drivers to get the maximum performance out of it.
The procedure outlined below will walk you through setting up the HP Deskjet 2722 with your smartphone using the HP Smart App. First, check to see if your printer is turned on and ready to go.
Now, using your smartphone, go to Google Play Store or Apple App Store and search for and install HP Smart App.
Step 1: On your smartphone, open the HP Smart App.
Step 2: To add a printer, tap the ‘Plus' icon.
Step 3: Tap the ‘Add Printer' option as the app looks for your printer.
Step 4: Select the ‘DeskJet 2700 series' option from the drop-down menu.
Step 5: Tap the ‘Continue' button after entering your Wi-Fi connection's password.
Step 6: Allow the app to locate your printer.
Step 7: Wait while the app sets up your printer.
Step 8: When the app instructs you to tap the blinking ‘Information' button, check the control panel of your printer.
Step 9: The I (information) button LED on the printer control panel is blinking. Toggle the I button on your keypad.
Step 10: Wait for the printer's IP address to be obtained by the app.
Step 11: The notice "Connections finished" will now appear.
Step 12: To continue, tap ‘Continue.'
Step 13: Wait for the app to gather information about your HP printer's status.
Step 14: You'll be asked if you want to print from additional devices connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Select the 'Not Now' option from the drop-down menu.
Step 15: Finally, you'll see the message "Setup Complete." You can use the ‘Print a Document' button to print a test page using your printer if you want.
Step 16: You've successfully linked your HP printer to your smartphone, and you can now use your HP all-in-one printer wirelessly.
