Why my Brother hl-l2340dw printer can't airprint from Apple products?

I have properly connected my Brother hl-l2340dw printer to wireless network. When I print using my iPhone, "no airprint printers detected" message displays on the screen. The same thing is happening when I try to print via Mac, iPad. Please help me troubleshoot this issue! Thanks in Advance!

Fix for Brother Printer when AirPrinting does not work -

Brother printer

First, check simple stuff -

  1. Confirm that your Brother printer has the paper tray and ink cartridges are not empty.
  2. Turn on and off Brother printer for 3-4 times as this will help you to resolve connectivity issues.
  3. Make sure that there are o any kind of error messages on the printer control panel.
  4. Before you attempt to print anything, make sure your Brother printer is connected to the WiFi network.

Check Brother printer’s network configuration -

  • Print a Network Configuration page to find your Brother printer’s IP address.
  • In the General Information section of this report, you have to check Active Connection type. The connection type should be “Wireless”.Brother printer
  • Also, check the status in the Wireless section of “Network Configuration Page”.
  • One more thing i.e., the Network Name that is printed in this report should be same as the name of the wireless network for your networked printer.

Verify AirPrint is enabled

  1. To confirm AirPrint is enabled or not, open embedded web server and then confirm AirPrint is enabled.
  2. After printing “Network Configuration Page”, check your printer’s IP address.
  3. Then open the web browser, type that IP address in the address bar and hit Enter. If website security certificate displays on the screen then hit Continue. Now EWS information page will open.
  4. Tap on Settings> Security > Administrator Settings.
  5. Move to Network Settings and choose Airprint. If Airprint is already selected then click on Apply button to save the changes.
  6. Now restart your Brother printer and try Airprinting.

Airprint is the utility software program which allows various Apple devices to print wirelessly from a printer. The reason for your Brother printer to not Airprint from your Apple products could be varied and that is why I will suggest a few troubleshooting techniques to help you out. Follow the instructions carefully:

  1. Check the settings of your Apple device

Make sure that your Apple device is on and connected to the same network as your Brother printer. If the connectivity settings are not right you wouldn't be able to AirPrint. You must be connected to a wifi network and essentially the same one as your printer. Connecting via cellular data would not help here.
  2. Check your Brother Printer Settings

Make sure that your Brother printer is turned on and connected to the same network as your Apple device. Make sure that your Brother printer is the default printer of your computer and configured as per the network settings.
  3. Confirm Access Point

Make sure that the access point setting for your printer is correct. As mentioned above in order to give an Airprint command from your Apple product, both the printer and the Apple device must be connected to the same network i.e your wifi.
  4. Update Drivers

Go to Brother Printer official website and download every driver in the latest available version and install it on your computer connected to the printer. Check whether the Airprint has got any updates and install that too if available.

Hopefully, these steps helped you in resolving the Airprint issue you had. feel free to revert back if you need any specific or further instructions.
