I have a Brother mfc 3240c printer at home. The printer is not even 3 months old and it has stopped printing completely. Yes from last night the printer is not responding to any kind of print commands. I checked the ink cartridges and most of them are fairly filled and above the half mark. Can anyone tell me what is wrong with my printer device as I am not that a tech guy so could not figure out the reasons.
Going by your query the reasons seems internal and therefore I will discuss certain troubleshooting techniques to resolve the issue. Follow these instructions carefully:
Sometimes the printer would not be able to follow the command if the ink cartridges are misplaced or not set perfectly. Ink cartridges have printheads which need to align in order to complete the print command.
So open the top of your printer and check if the ink cartridges are placed properly in its place, if not reset it. Also, clean the printheads using a piece of cloth soaked in warm water to remove any kind of blockage.
Another common reason for your printer to not oblige the print command is when the paper tray is jammed. If your paper tray is not clean and jammed it won't be able to push the paper ahead for the printing process. So make sure to check your paper and remove any kind of chunks or pieces of paper stuck.
Printer Drivers are software programs written to manage and control the hardware of your printer. These drivers have the tendency to get corrupted or outdated.
So make sure to update them to the latest available version. Go to your vendor's website - www.brother-usa.com and search your device via its model number. Go to its respective download section and download all the available drivers and then install it on your computer.
Note: if you don't know that how to install Brother wireless printer without CD than check if you have printer driver CD so Printer technical support forum also helps for install Brother printer drivers with CD-ROM.
If any of the above-mentioned steps did not resolve the issue, the last tested option is to reset your printer settings to Factory settings. In this way, you will be able to wipe out any changes made to your printer causing the issue.
