How can I Fix Printer Prints Twice in Windows 10 Problem?

1) Change the Number of Copies by Going to Printer Settings

Step 1: Go to the Start menu and then click on Control Panel. 

Step 2: Choose Hardware and Sound.

Step 3: Select Devices and printers. 

Step 4: Select Printer Properties. 

Step 5: After that, choose a number of copies. If you see a set of two, then you must change it to 1 and see if this resolves your problem. 

2) Uncheck Bidirectional Support

 

Below are the steps that you need to follow to disable bidirectional support. 

Step 1: Go to the Start menu and then choose Control Panel. 

Step 2: Choose the option of Hardware and Sound. 

Step 3: Select Devices and Printers. 

Step 4: Go to your HP printer icon and then right-click on it. 

Step 5: Choose Printer server properties. 

Step 6: After that, you must click on Ports. 

Step 7: Uncheck the option of Enable Bidirectional support.

Step 8: Select Apply. 

3) Install the Latest Drivers for Your Printer

Below are the steps that you are required to follow in order to install the latest printer drivers. You can easily do this by using Add a Printer wizard. 

Step 1: Go to the Start menu and then select the Control Panel.

Step 2: Choose Hardware and Sound. 

Step 3: Select the option of Devices and Printers. 

Step 4: Click on add a printer. This will open up Choose a device or printer to add this to PC. Then, select Next if you see your printer. 

Step 5: In case you don't see the printer, then select the option of "The printer I want is not listed". After that, select the option of "Add a network printer or local printer with manual settings. After that, select Next. 

Step 6: Choose the port that you want the printer to use. After that, click on Next. 

Step 7: Click on Windows Update and then select your printer's name from the printers pane. 

  • Select Next, if it is on the list. 
  • In case you don't see it on the list, select back two times in a row and then select Find a printer by other options. 

Step 8: You can Add a printer by using IP or TCP address or hostname. 

Step 9: Go to the drop-down menu and then select the option of Autodetect from Device type. 

Step 10: Type the IP address of your printer for connecting your printer. After that, select next to install your printer driver. 

4) Adjust Your Number of Copies from the Document

Based on the document that you are using, you need to follow the steps to control the number of copies of your printed document.  This will submit the job to the printer. 

If you are using Word document, then below mentioned are the steps that you are required to follow. 

Step 1: Select File. 

Step 2: After that, click onPrint. 

Step 3: Click on Copies. 

Step 4: Adjust the copies as per your requirement. 

If you are using a PDF document, then below are the steps that you are required to follow. 

Step 1: Go to your Printer icon and then click on it. 

Step 2: Select Copies. 

Step 3: After that, you must Adjust these copies. 

If you are using a web page, then below are the steps that you are required to follow. 

Step 1: Select File.

Step 2: After that, click on Print. 

Step 3: Select copies and then adjust these copies. 

5) Reset Your Printing System 

Below are the steps that you are required to follow to reset your printing system. 

Step 1: Go to the Start menu and then click on the Control Panel. After that, click on the option of View by large icons. 

Step 2: Select Administrative Tools. 

Step 3: Click on the option of Print Management. 

Step 4: Choose Print Servers. 

Step 5: Go to the empty space next to your printer server's name and then right-click on it. 

Step 6: Choose the option of Remove or Add servers. 

Step 7: Select the option of Remove All and then click on OK. 

6) Reinstall the Printer

Below are the simple steps that you are required to follow in order to reinstall your printer. 

Step 1: Go to the Start menu and then click on Device Manager. 

Step 2: Select Programs. 

Step 3: After that, navigate to the Start menu and then right-click on it. After that, click on Device Manager. 

Step 4: Check whether your printer is in the list or not. After that, delete it.  Also, you must check the options given at the top. 

Step 5: Open Control Panel. 

Step 6: Choose the option of Hardware and Sound. 

Step 7: Select the option of Devices and Printers. 

Step 8: Choose any printer listed and select any option from the top. 

Step 9: Select Print Server Properties. 

Step 10: Delete the list of all the printer drivers.
