The best way of converting such paper documents into electronic form is to scan them to PDF with an HP printer.
Step 1 – The first step is to keep the documents in paper form on the glass case of the HP printer, which is done by opening the upper lid of your HP printer and placing the documents or photos you are want to scan on such glass panel of your HP printer and then closing the lid subsequently.
Step 2 - The next step is to open the HP printer window to arrange different settings-related parameters. For this to be done, open the HP Solutions Center Program by clicking on the start button and going to All Programs options.
Alternatively, you can open the HP printer and scanning window by clicking on the icon of HP printers available on the desktop screen.
Step 3 - Click on the “Scan Settings” option and then go to “Scan Settings and Preferences”.
Step 4 – An HP printer comes with unique features of providing multiple formats in which the file can be saved. So, for going to PDF format option, go to Scan Document Settings.
Step 5 - Now click on the downward arrow displayed beside “Scan To” option. Now save the file by clicking on the “Save to File” option and finally choose PDF format under “File Type” option.
Step 6 – Resolution is a key criterion to be kept in mind before executing the scanning of any document, so, you must set the resolution of the prospective PDF file.
You can select from the 150 dots per inch option to 300 dots per inch depending on your requirement. After you have decided on the resolution, you can click on the OK button to save the resolution settings.
Step 7 – Now, finally click on the save button by locating the file where you actually want to get the file saved through the Browse option.
Step 8 – After you have followed the above procedure to configure the setting of the prospective scanned file, click on the Scan button to finally scan to PDF with HP printer at the desired location of your computer’s storage.
