How do You Change the Status of an HP Printer from Offline to Online?

Troubleshooting Steps to Bring HP Printer Online -

1. First of all, reboot your HP printer by shutting it off and then turn it back on. To finish booting, give this process a little time so that your printer can perform all tasks smoothly.
2. Check your HP printer is connected to your computer, no matter you are connected via ethernet or wirelessly. Also, confirm that your HP printer has network connectivity. If your HP printer is a networked unit then check link light that is located on printer’s back panel is flashing green.
3. Log onto your operating system by using administrator account because that has “Manage Printers” rights. Although in various cases, a local administrator account is sufficient.
4. Go to your computer’s screen and click on Start button> Devices and Printers.
5. Next, press right click on your HP printer and choose the option “See what is printing”. By doing so, you are redirected to print spooler window.
6. Then click on Printer and then remove the checkmark that is displaying next to “Use Printer Offline”. I hope now your HP printer will come online. If still, your HP printer is offline then proceed to next step.
7. Close print spooler screen and then go back to Devices and Printers. Open any internet browser and then download the latest printer from its official website.
8. Follow on-screen instructions to install HP printer driver on your operating system. If still, you didn’t succeed to bring your HP printer online then go ahead.
9. On your desktop, go to Start> Control Panel. Go to next screen, move to its upper right corner where you will see the search bar. In that search-bar, type “troubleshooter” and then click on “Troubleshooting” link that will appear in the next window.
10. Under Hardware & Sound, locate “Use a printer” option and tap on it.
11. Go through on-screen instructions. Now the troubleshooter will automatically identify and resolve the issue. If due to any reason, troubleshooter is unable to resolve the problem then it will deliver you additional guidance on addressing the main issue.
