Brother Printer Offline in Windows 10:

To resolve the Brother printer offline windows 10 problem, implement the steps listed below:

Step 1 : Make Sure That the Power Button of the Brother Machine is Switched On, and There are No Errors.

1-In case your Brother machine's screen (LCD) is empty, it is possible because the power button of the device is not switched on.

Examine the machine to see if it gets up from its sleep mode. If it does not wake up from its sleep mode, then ensure that it is connected to the main electricity supply and its power switch is turned on.

At this point, be aware that if you cannot switch the machine on, then this solution is of no use to you. Also, find out why the hardware does not work effectively.

2-Scrutinize the LCD for error messages like 'Paper Jam' or 'Ink/Toner Empty.' If the LCD exhibits an error, bring its cause to light to get rid of this Brother printer offline windows malfunction.

Step 2: Ensure That the Brother Printer is Hooked Up to the Computer.

  1. If you link with a USB cable, ensure that the wire is joined to both the printer and the computer.
  2. Experiment with the cable by joining it straight to the computer and not through a hub.
  3. In case you are utilizing an Ethernet cable, double-check that the cable is joined to both the printer and router/access point.
  4. Print the network configuration page to verify the IP address.
  5. On condition that you are using a wireless connection, print the network configuration page to confirm the IP address.
  6. If the problem persists, pay a quick visit to STEP C.

Step 3 (Windows): Double-Check That Your Brother Equipment is Arranged as the Default Printer.

Reveal the Printers folder and ensure that a checkmark appears on your Brother machine's icon.

Windows 8 or Later:

  1. Expose the Control Panel.
  2. Click Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers.

Windows 7:

  1. Click Start > Devices and Printers.
  2. If the checkmark is not visible on your Brother machine, right-click the icon for your Brother machine and select Set as default printer.

Step 4 : Windows: Delete All Print Jobs from the Devices and Printers window.

Windows 7 or later:

  1. Right-click the icon for your Brother machine > See what's printing > Printer > Cancel All Documents.
  2. Click Cancel All Documents button.
  3. When Cancel All Documents greys out, click Open as Administrator.
  4. Write down the password for an administrator before clicking Yes.

Step 5 : Windows: Scrutinize the Printer Status in the Devices and Printers window.

In case the Printer Status is offline-

Windows 10 or later:

  1. Right-click the icon for your Brother machine > See what's printing > Printer > Use Printer Offline (get rid of the checkmark).
  2. After Use Printer Offline turns grey, click Open As Administrator.
  3. At first, write down your administrator password; next, click Yes.

If the printer status is paused.

Windows 10 or later:

  1. Right-click the icon for your Brother machine > See what's printing > Printer > Pause Printing (take out the checkmark).
  2. If Pause Printing is greyed out, click Open As Administrator.
  3. At first, key in the password for an administrator; later, click Yes.

Step 6 (Windows): When a Copy of Your Brother Machine's Icon (For Example, Brother XXX-XXXX (Copy 1)) Gets Registered Under Devices and Printers.

A copy of your printer with the same printer name can be generated when you:

a-Link up the Brother equipment to a separate USB port on your computer.
b-Set up the same printer driver many times.

This action can result in a few copies of your printer driver (not functioning in the approved manner.)

To print, select a properly functioning printer driver.

To find out a capable printer driver, carry out the following:

  1. Switch the Brother equipment on.
  2. As soon as you link up additional machines, only switch on your Brother machine.
  3. Reveal the Printers folder.

Windows 8 or later:

  • Expand the Control Panel.
  • Click Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers.

Windows 7:

a-Click Start > Devices and Printers.
b-Linger the cursor over the printer icon until the printer status pop-up emerges.
c-When the status is Ready, it indicates that the printer driver is operating appropriately.
d-Select this printer driver before printing.
e-(Optional) When you want to modify the printer name, implement the following:

Windows 7 or later:

a-Right-click the printer icon.
b-Click Printer Properties.
c-To begin with, edit the printer name in the Printer Properties window; after that, click OK.

4-If you would like to print with this printer alone, right-click the icon of the machine and select Set as default printer.

The checkmark resting on the machine's icon will become visible; after that, when you print, this printer driver will get selected without human intervention.
